Eligibility for Title IV aid
In general, students may be eligible for Title IV aid if the following provisions apply:
- The student is enrolled as a regular student in a Title IV-eligible program.
- The student is a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
- The student meets the need requirements specified.

Information regarding disbursements
All Federal Grant disbursements will begin 10 days after the start of each qualifying student’s award period. Funds are applied directly to students' ledger accounts. If available, excess funds will be released within 14 days after Herzing University receives the funds from the Department of Education. The cost of required textbooks are included in applicable fees, therefore Title IV eligible students will not receive early disbursements of the Federal Pell Grant.

Wisconsin Grant
The Wisconsin Grant program provides grant assistance to undergraduate, Wisconsin residents enrolled at least half-time in degree or certificate programs at nonprofit, independent colleges or universities based in Wisconsin. Awards are based on financial need and partially based on that portion of tuition in excess of UW-Madison tuition. The maximum award amount is established annually by HEAB. Eligibility cannot exceed ten semesters. To apply, students must complete the FAFSA prior to HEAB’s waitlist date. Indian Student Assistance Grant
Awards under this program are made to Wisconsin residents who are at least 25% Native American and are undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in degree or certificate programs. To apply, students must complete the FAFSA and Indian Student Assistance Grant Application. Award amounts vary, but cannot exceed $1,100. If you think you may qualify, please contact the Financial Aid Department to obtain an application.
Minority Undergraduate Retention Grant
Awards under this program are made to Wisconsin resident minority undergraduates, excluding first year students, enrolled at least half-time. According to the statutes, a minority student is defined as a student who is either an African American; American Indian; Hispanic; or Southeast Asian from Laos, Cambodia, or Vietnam admitted to the U.S. after December 31, 1975. Award amounts vary, but cannot exceed $2,500. To apply, students must complete the FAFSA and be nominated by Herzing. Please note: Herzing University receives a limited allocation of funds for the Minority Undergraduate Retention Grant, and not all students who meet basic eligibility requirements for this grant will be able to receive grant funds.
Hearing & Visually Handicapped Student Grant
The Handicapped Student Grant Program was established to provide funding for undergraduate Wisconsin residents, enrolled at least half-time, that show financial need and have a severe or profound hearing or visual impairment. For purposes of this grant the hearing loss must be 40 decibels or greater in the better ear and/or the vision loss must be 20/200 or less in the better eye or the field of vision must be 20 degrees or less in the better eye. Award amounts vary, but cannot exceed $2,500. To apply, students must complete the FAFSA and Hearing & Visually Handicapped Student Grant Application. Academic Excellence Scholarship
Academic Excellence Scholarships are awarded to Wisconsin high school seniors who have the highest grade point average in each public and private high school throughout the State of Wisconsin. In order to receive a scholarship, a student must be enrolled on a full-time basis by September 30th of the academic year following the academic year in which he or she was designated as a scholar, at a participating University of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Technical College, or independent institution in the state. Students must be continually enrolled from term to term and maintain at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA. There is no application process – recipients are designated by their high school based on GPA. Award amount is $2,250 per year, to be applied towards tuition. Eligibility cannot exceed 8 semesters.

These may be awarded based on academic achievement, financial need, community affiliations, or external opportunities and do not have to be repaid. An application and supporting documentation may be required to determine eligibility. The Crisis Support Grant is an emergency grant for active students experiencing a financial crisis

All Herzing University students are eligible to apply via the formal application process outlined below. Students must apply prior to the start of either semester in their last academic year before graduation. The application period is open during the summer semester.
An application including a personal statement, letters of recommendation, and examples of community service is required. In addition, the scholarship review committee may review GPA and unmet financial need as part of eligibility criteria.

The E.C. Styberg Scholarship is awarded to recipients enrolled full-time pursuing their degree as a resident of Racine or Kenosha county.
Must be Racine or Kenosha County residents pursuing a degree in business administration and management or other majors related to manufacturing. In addition, applicants must be full-time undergraduates in good academic standing who demonstrate financial need.

Rath Distinguished Scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement, merit, and leadership.
Must be an actively enrolled student in good standing. If an entering first year student, the scholarship applicants must have graduated among the top 25 percent of their high school class. If a sophomore, junior, or senior, applicants must have demonstrated academic excellence by maintaining a grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent). In addition, scholarship recipients are to demonstrate strong campus and community leadership. Applicants must be enrolled through the Fall semester. Scholars must be U.S. citizens; Wisconsin residents preferred.

Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities (WORC) Grant
Candidate Description
For students enrolled in Herzing New Orleans Campus in qualifying programs that provide certifications leading to high-quality, vertical career trajectory in jobs in Jefferson Parish and the surrounding DRA region.
Eligibility Requirements
Students living in the Jefferson Parish or neighboring parishes located within the DRA, including LaFourche, St. Charles, Orleans, Plaquemines, St Bernard, and St. Tammany.
Students newly enrolled in one of the following programs:
- Sterile Processing Diploma (SPD)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Master of Science in Nursing Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Degree
Special consideration will be given to dislocated workers in the hospitality and energy industries and incumbent RNs interested in entering the mental health field.

Candidate Description
Scholars interested in pursuing a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree to utilize in a career working with medically underserved and underfunded communities can receive $10,000 to be applied towards Herzing University tuition.
Eligibility Requirements
- Enrolled in Herzing University’s Master of Science in Nursing Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MSNPMHNP) program as an RN-MSN or MSN student; completing all coursework and program requirements
- Maintain a minimum 3.25 GPA
- Prepare to enter Class NU 673 Psychiatric Mental Healthcare I
- Complete all required clinical placement at HRSA-eligible organization
- Participate in an integrative healthcare project with a focus on mental illness in a medically underserved area of the community
- Maintain one-year post-graduation employment status working with person in underserved and underfunded areas of the community

Child Care Access Means Parents in School Program (CCAMPIS) Grant
Candidate Description
Available to student parents and primary caretakers of children 5 or younger to assist with the cost of keeping their children enrolled in a quality child care center.
Eligibility Requirements
- Enrolled in classes at Herzing University minimum of 6 credits/semester
- Maintain overall 2.0 GPA
- Eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant
- Primary caretaker for dependent child under the age of 5 or over the age of 5 and have a disability requiring constant care
- Have children enrolled in an approved licensed and accredited childcare center
- Apply for other childcare funding services (State Subsidized care, external scholarships, university scholarships, etc.)
